Hurricane Season
The hurricane season in Cancun is June 1st to November 30th. During this time, there is a higher risk of severe weather and dangerous storms, which can disrupt travel plans and cause damage to the area.
It is important to check the weather forecast and have a plan in place in case of a hurricane warning.
Hurricanes are tropical cyclones that form over warm ocean water. They can have winds of 74 miles per hour or more and cause extensive damage to buildings, infrastructure and property. Spring Break Crowds
If you’re looking to escape the crowds, book your trip during the off-peak months of September and October. Extreme Heat and Humidity
Cancun can be uncomfortably hot and humid during the summer months, with temperatures reaching into the mid-90s and high humidity levels. If you’re sensitive to heat, it’s best to visit during the cooler months of December through February. It’s also advisable that you wear light clothing and drink lots of water if you plan on spending time outside in the sun.
The best time to visit is during the spring and fall. This is when the weather is at its most comfortable, with temperatures in the 80s and low humidity levels.
High Prices during Peak Season
If you’re looking to save money on your trip and are only planning on spending a few days in Cancun, consider visiting during the shoulder season (May and November). Prices are still high during this time but not as bad as peak season. Alternatively, if you can wait until mid-April or later before traveling, there are plenty of deals available for flights which will bring down costs.
Cancun Tourism Board also offers discounts on rooms during certain months throughout the year: February through April has its low season with discounted rates; May through August is a mid-season with average prices; September through November is considered high season with higher rates again.
